Rooted in Scripture, shaped by love, and driven by mission—we’re a community sharing the hope of Jesus with Costa Rica’s English-speaking world.
Our Vision
At ECF, our vision is bigger than just filling seats on a Sunday. We dream of seeing God’s Kingdom expand across Costa Rica and beyond. Here in the Central Valley, we envision continued growth as a church family, the establishment of our own permanent home, and the planting of English-speaking churches in all seven provinces of the nation. But the dream doesn’t stop there. Our ultimate goal is to spark a disciple-making movement where average, ordinary, everyday people are equipped and trained not to just be a disciple themselves, but to be disciple-makers. This vision is for everyone and our dream is that our impact will spread throughout Central America and ripple out to the ends of the earth. This vision is not about building our name, but about multiplying disciples and churches so that the name of Jesus is known and glorified everywhere.
Our Mission
Everything we do as a church flows from our mission: making disciples of Jesus. We believe a disciple is someone who is:
- Following Jesus — trusting Him for the forgiveness of sin , submitting to Him as the King and leader of their life, and learning from Him as Teacher.
- Being changed by Jesus — allowing the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts, attitudes, and actions to reflect Jesus more and more.
- On the mission of Jesus — actively joining in God’s work to reach people with the good news of the Gospel, love our neighbors, and make more disciples.
This definition shapes our ministries, our relationships, and our everyday lives. At ECF, discipleship is not an optional extra, it is the very heartbeat of who we are.
Our Values
Our values define how we live out our mission together. At ECF, we are committed to being:
Bible-Centered
God’s Word is our foundation. We believe the Bible is living and active, the ultimate authority for faith and practice. Every sermon, study, and decision is rooted in Scripture.
Love-Saturated
Jesus said the world would know we are His disciples by our love. At ECF, we seek to be a community marked by grace, compassion, forgiveness, and genuine care for one another. Love is not just something we talk about, it is the atmosphere we strive to create in every gathering and interaction.
Outreach-Focused
We believe the church does not exist for itself. Our passion is to reach the lost, serve our community, and bring the hope of Jesus to those who have never experienced His love. Locally and globally, we want to be the hands and feet of Christ.

Our Beliefs

The Word of God
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God and that it is, for the Christian, the only infallible rule of our faith and practice.
The Trinity
We believe in the one, true, eternal God, revealed in Scripture as three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Our Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, in his sinless life, in his miracles, in his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in his personal return in power and glory.
Salvation
We believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and for our salvation from our lost and sinful condition it is absolutely essential that we be regenerated by the Holy Spirit and confess Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
The Holy Spirit and the Church
We believe in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit, who indwells all Christian believers and enables them to grow toward a more godly life. We believe that the Holy Spirit unites all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, regardless of denominational affiliation, thus forming the Church universal.
The Spirit also gathers believers together in a local congregation to form a visible manifestation of the body of Christ for the purposes of worshiping God, loving ministry of mutual concern for each other, instruction, the administration of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, fellowship, mission and service to our neighbors and the world.Resurrection and Final Judgment
We believe in the resurrection of the living and the dead, judgment of the entire human race, and eternal life for those who are saved by God's grace.
God's Glory and Our Purpose
We believe that the kingdom, the power and the glory belong to our Lord Jesus Christ, and that we are created to serve him as stewards of his creation and to praise his Holy name in this time and for all eternity.
