ECF’s mission to be the “heart, hands, and voice of Jesus Christ
in Costa Rica’s English-speaking community”  guides our English-language Christian church in San José, Costa Rica, as we seek to be faithful to the grace God has offered us in Jesus Christ. In our international, interdenominational congregation you will find an exciting place to worship, learn, fellowship and serve with your heart, hands, and voice.

25 years ago, a group of English-speaking residents on the western side of the city met to offer a Sunday school program for their children. In time, they felt God’s call to add worship for the adults at the same time, and so ECF began.

Over the years, ECF has been a church marked with a strong commitment to lay leadership, dynamic worship, compelling Bible study, significant ministry to children and youth and a committed outreach to the Costa Rican community.

Today, our church is made up of a diverse group of English-speaking participants, including expatriates and Costa Ricans.

Among our fellowship you will find business people, teachers, diplomats, missionaries, retirees and people serving in not-for-profit agencies. Those associated with our congregation hail
from many countries around the world and many denominations, including Presbyterian, Methodist, Lutheran, Episcopalian/Anglican, and Congregationalist, as well as from non-denominational church backgrounds.

Whoever you are, we welcome you to add your “heart, hands, and voice” to ours as we use them in worship, fellowship, and service in the name of Jesus Christ.
